Things to Know About Our Child Care Center
1: Statement of Purpose
A B C Child Care Center is a private learning center providing quality child care for infants and children, six weeks through five years of age. At A B C Child Care Center, our primary interest is each child. We provide a wide range of activities and materials to choose from. Group activities include creative play, dramatics, group games, stories and rhythmic play. We also have age-appropriate academics to help prepare your child for later schooling. In this physical setup, your child will be able to express his or her own individuality while enjoying the companionship of other children his or her age. Great care is given to ensure that each child receives individual attention and consideration in developing his or her emotional and physical needs to the fullest.
2: Arrival and Pickup
A. A B C Child Care Center is open from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
B. Upon enrollment, there will be a 30-day trial period, after which time the directors will meet with the parents to discuss the child’s adjustment into the program. If, at any time, a child’s behavior is deemed detrimental to the program, A B C Child Care Center reserves the right to request that the child be withdrawn.
C. Parents must notify the school if any person other than themselves will be bringing in or picking up their child.
3: Health Regulations
A. Each child must meet the state requirements of a yearly physical examination, plus a current immunization record. According to state law, no child may attend classes until a provided health form is in our files.
B. If a child becomes ill at school, the parent will be notified and asked to pick him or her up.
C. No child will be brought to school if he or she has a fever.
D. Absences: Please telephone the school on the first day of a child’s absence, and please do consider the health of all the children when you are deciding whether your child is well enough for school.
4: Personal Belongings
A. Please mark all of your child’s clothing with his or her name.
B. Children should be dressed in comfortable play clothes.
C. An extra set of clothes should be kept at the school in case of accidents.
D. If any item of clothing is lost, please notify a staff member and we will do our best to locate it.
5: Vacation and Holidays
A. Legal holidays will be posted. The school is open 52 weeks a year for your convenience.
Our legal holidays are: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (1 p.m. to 6 p.m.), Christmas Day and President’s Day. School will be closed on these days.
6: Fees and Payments
A. This year, more than ever, it is essential that everyone pay on time.
B. Payment is due every Friday.
C. If you have a special problem, please let us know.
D. Fees are to be paid on Thursday for the succeeding week of school. There are no adjustments for absences or for holidays and vacations. There is a $20 fine for anyone whose child is left after 6 p.m. There is a $25 charge for checks returned from the bank. There will be no refund for absence of any kind.
